Summer Advantage 2020 Cancelled
Summer Advantage 2020 has been cancelled due to concerns about the course of COVID-19, but you can still take WSU summer courses at a distance. Pullman campus summer courses will be delivered remotely using Zoom and Blackboard, our learning management system. To learn about summer financial aid opportunities visit the Student Financial Services Summer Aid website.
Summer Advantage is a five-week, 3-to-8-credit semester that will provide your student an opportunity to acclimate to college life at a slower pace and in a more personal manner than what they might experience during the fall semester.
Your student will face some adjustments during their first weeks of college. Our Summer Advantage peer mentors provide a support system for them during this time away from home. They are available to assist your student in making the first month of college a productive, gradual learning process.
We provide assistance with textbook purchases, accompany your student to class on the first day and help them get acquainted with the entire WSU campus.
In the past years, Summer Advantage students and staff have shared dinner time together, providing a great opportunity to develop lifelong friendships. Why not have your student spend five weeks with us, starting their college career off on the right foot?
“Senior year is hard with SATs, school dances, and graduation. So it may be hard for some incoming freshman to consider not working or relaxing before starting WSU. As a parent who’s cougar started WSU Summer Advantage only 5 days after graduation, I can tell you it was worth it.
My daughter’s transition into college life couldn’t have been any better. She learned studying tips, the campus, local restaurants, and made amazing friends in the 5 weeks she participated in the program. As parents, moving in early helped us move her in the dorms, learn myWSU.edu, learn about campus security, summer storage, etc. The Summer Advantage staff was always amazing!”
—Trinity, parent of a Summer Advantage student, 2018

All communications from our office and WSU in general will go directly to their WSU Email address, NOT their personal email address or their MyWSU message system. If your student has not done so, please visit WSU Outlook365 so they can begin using their WSU email account.
