2026 Tuition
Winter Session courses cost $634.95 per credit for undergraduates and $728.35 per credit for graduate students regardless of residency. Because Winter Session courses are not covered by full-time fall semester tuition, Winter Session tuition will be charged in addition to fall tuition.
Winter Session 2026 Tuition Payment Deadlines:
- December 23 for three-week courses
- December 6 for six-week courses
Winter Session course fees cannot be paid by tuition waiver exemptions as these courses are self-sustaining (not funded by state funds) and fully dependent on fees to cover the cost of instruction. Fee waivers authorized under RCW 28b.15.910 apply only to state-supported cases.

Financial Aid
For financial aid purposes, Winter Session is considered part of the fall semester. If you applied for financial aid for the fall semester, you may be eligible for increased fall loans (Direct, PLUS, or private) to help cover Winter Session costs, depending on the financial aid already awarded to you for the academic year. In general, there is no separate financial aid available specifically for Winter Session.
To maximize your funding options, enroll in Winter Session courses by the 10th day of the fall semester (census day), when WSU finalizes enrollment for financial aid purposes. Your eligibility for increased funding will be reviewed automatically. No additional steps are required.
If you did not apply for financial aid for the fall semester and are interested, you can still apply. Contact the Office of Student Financial Services at 509-335-9711 or financialaid@wsu.edu for more information.
