Eligibility Requirements for 2026

In order to be considered for financial aid you must:

  1. The 2025-2026 FAFSA/WASFA application window will close on June 30th, 2026. Please have yours submitted it by this date.
  2. Be admitted to WSU as a degree-seeking student.
  3. Register for at least 6 credits (undergraduate students) or at least 3 credits (graduate students). If you plan on enrolling in fewer credits, please contact Student Financial Services to discuss available options.

Find additional information about the Summer financial aid process on the WSU Financial Aid website.

Types of Funds

Federal financial aid for summer typically consists of grants and loans that you may have qualified for during the academic year but did not accept or use.

Pell Grant is available for those who qualify. Student Financial Services will determine your eligibility for the Pell Grant based on the number of credits you are enrolled in and the amount of Pell Grant you have already received for the 2025-2026 academic year.

Academic Year Revision Request

If you are enrolled above half-time credits (6 undergrad, 3 grad) or for more than six weeks, you have the option to submit an Academic Year Revision Request to increase your summer budget, and potentially increase your financial aid. This form is located at financialaid.wsu.edu/forms.

Funds Availability

Your summer financial aid will deliver to your WSU Student Account on the first day of your first summer session class. The last day students can accept loans for guaranteed summer-term delivery is July 18, 2026.

Note: Some students may experience a delay in delivery of summer financial aid until their spring semester grades are posted to their transcripts and verified for satisfactory academic progress [SAP]. Continuing students must be meeting SAP. For the complete SAP policy, please refer to the SAP webpage.
